The Pittsburgh Steelers are looking to get extra out of Kenny Pickett in his 1/3 year than they did in his first two years. Between Matt Canada’s terrible tenure, Pickett’s performance, and injuries, the first two years were marred via inconsistency and extra questions than answers.
But he nonetheless has sufficient believers in the team, and former Steelers quarterback Terry Bradshaw believes that Pickett has it all crucial to be the man in Pittsburgh.
” love Pickett,” Bradshaw said on The Rich Eisen Show. “I be aware of him well. He’s fiercely competitive. He’s a tough-minded kind. Things don’t hassle him. I sincerely like him a lot. Kenny’s obtained the poise. I simply want my quarterback to be poised. If he’s poised, then his brain’s gonna be calm, he’s going to see the coverages, he’s going to be rapid with his choice making. And Pickett has all of that.”
In addition to backing Kenny Pickett, Bradshaw went after the thinking that the team have to change for Bears quarterback Justin Fields. Instead, he belives they must continue to build around Pickett.
“You don’t want Fields,” Bradshaw said. “Stay with what you got. Just construct (Pickett) up. Get him every other receiver. Give him an explosive tight end. Give him another tackle, provide him a guard. Have the capability to protect him. And give him guys on the outside. This is a passing league, now. Get him humans out there that can run and catch the soccer that are smart. That’s their guy. There’s probable going to be a lot of terrible (said) about him, but that’s the man I would go with.”
It appears not likely that the Steelers will change for Fields, who will likely value at least a second-day choose in the 2024 NFL Draft. President Art Rooney II said as plenty in the past this month, and the Steelers are not searching for a quarterback to exchange Kenny Pickett as the team’s starter, multiple shops have reported.
