Patrick peterson once was one of football’s best cornerbacks, but his reputation is being eroded at a time when the pittsburgh steelers’ veteran is at his most vulnerable stage of his career. Peterson has a year remaining on his contract with the steelers, but there has been a lot of talk that pittsburgh could be separating with him. During this week’s all things covered podcast, the 33-year-old talked about the situation and seems to be more than willing to stay with the steelers as long as they have him. Peterson said, “the question is whether the steelers want me to finish with them.”
Peterson is coming off of a rough 2023 campaign that saw him play every game and record 42 tackles, a couple of interceptions, and 11 passes defended. Although peterson was good this season, he barely resembled his former self. The fort lauderdale, florida, area is located in the united states. Peterson never missed a game in his first eight seasons, so durability certainly represented a portion of his value as well as his elite skillset at the cornerback position. Peterson joined the minnesota vikings for two seasons before signing with the steelers last offseason. At this point, it is clear that peterson is more of a supplementary piece than a defensive anchor, and it will be seen if pittsburgh believes he is valuable enough to hold him. In the wild card round of the playoffs this season, the steelers went 10-7 and lost to the buffalo bills.
