Lebron james hasn’t had the opportunity to play for the los angeles lakers this season, and he has clearly been dissatisfied with the team’s results this season. As the lakers reach the all-star break, they have a 30-26 record and are in 9th place in the western conference. Since they are not in the top six teams at this point, they will have to perforinate the play-in portion of the season. It is a very poor alternative for a team that has 17 nba championships in its history.
According to a recent story, the golden state warriors attempted to recruit the lakers and james to see if there was a chance he could be acquired in a trade. Neither the lakers nor james were interested in taking the opportunity. If james wants to return to championship status, espn’s nba expert kendrick perkins says he should stay with the lakers. James, 39, is still able to play at a high level, and his presence draws in other great players. “staying in los angeles is lebron’s best chance of winning a championship… this offseason, there is a move… imagine if he had another superstar caliber player in this locker room.” the lakers had a brief run to glory this season, winning the nba’s first in-season tournament.
Outside of that, their performance has been normal. Lebron james is once again the team’s statistical leader, averaging 24.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 7.8 assists per game. He has played in 49 of the lakers’ 56 games this season.
