A delivery driver pleaded guilty Wednesday in connection with a fatal crash during a Buffalo Bills game at Highmark Stadium last November, the Erie County District Attorney’s office said.Khairullah I, 33, according to WIVB. Hasein, of Buffalo, is charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident.Officers responded to reports of an incident near Highmark Stadium around 8:19 p.m. Eastern Time in November It was Oct. 13, minutes after the Bills kicked off their Monday Night Football game against the Denver Broncos.
The pedestrian struck was 65-year-old William J. Young, of Rochester, later died of his injuries at Erie County Medical Center.Authorities said Hasein, who was working as a delivery man at the time, struck Young with his car and fled the scene before police arrived. His gray Toyota Camry was found with front-end damage on Mills Street in Buffalo, more than 20 minutes from the stadium.WIVB previously reported that Hassain was indicted the following morning on the aforementioned charges.
Erie County District Attorney John Flynn released a statement about the case in November.”There are absolutely no traffic violations involved in these charges,” Flynn said, according to WIVB. “The actual crime has no impact on the victim, and the crime simply disappears from the scene.”Hassain was previously released after posting $10,000 bail. He is due back in court in April. He is 25 years old and faces up to seven years in prison.
