Colin Cowherd: The Steelers doesn’t have what it takes to get Bears’ Youngster…

Justin Fields is the big name of the week associated with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Since Adam Schefter’s comments earlier this week, this has kind of spread across the country and many people believe this is going to happen. But not everyone supports this idea. Many debate how the match will work out for both sides, but Colin Cowherd sees it differently. From Fields’ perspective, he doesn’t necessarily need to go to a team with a defensive coach, but he does want to go to a brand that values offensive firepower above all else.Mike Tomlin likes Justin Fields,” Cowherd said. “I don’t think this is good for Justin Fields’ career.

I think he needs an aggressive coach. The Bears and Steelers, two of the best defensive brands in the league, are battling it out. In my opinion, this suggests the Bears and Steelers need someone more, not that Justin Fields is talented. To be clear, they are not giving him what he needs… An area with a different defensive culture?. excuse me The Steelers haven’t had a good O-line in six years. They can’t get their offensive coordinator right. There is a lot of drama in their offense, but not a lot of points.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, who appears on ESPN 1000, believes the Bears could not only get rid of the first overall pick, but also get a nice return on Fields. “I think the Bears can get a premium pick, a second-round pick, maybe more,” Rapoport said. “They’re in a really good place and they’re going to have a lot of options for whatever they do.”So it would likely take at least a second-round pick to get Fields from the Bears, especially with the other teams in the conversation.

Rapoport responded that the Steelers, Falcons and Raiders are all teams to watch, “absolutely.”Fields made some small moves in 2023, his third year as Chicago’s starting quarterback. The 24-year-old Ohio State graduate threw 370 times for 2,562 yards and 227 touchdowns. He had nine interceptions, an 86.3 passer rating and 5.29 adjusted net yards per attempt. Last season, he went 192 of 318 for 2,242 yards, 17 tackles and 11 interceptions, an 85.2 quarterback rating and a 4.63 adjusted net yards per attempt.Fields is entering the final year of his rookie deal, and this offseason the Bears (or another team, if traded) will have to decide whether to pick up the fifth-year option on his contract.

It’s a $25 million contract guaranteed through 2025. The Bears or another club could try to negotiate a traditional contract extension.
