Joe mazzulla’s 100th career victory as an nba head coach came on wednesday night when the brooklyn nets defeated the boston celtics on the second leg of a back-to-back at td garden. Multiple celtics players praised mazzulla after the game, citing his improvement over the past year and a half more than anyone. “obviously, definitely a lot of growth,” white said of derrick white, who saw mazzulla behind the boston bench when he first joined the celtics in feb. 2022. “once i first arrived here, i was with ime (udoka) and will (hardy) probably most often, but i remember them telling me, “you need to know everything with the defense, like, joe is your guy.”
So that’s been my first introduction to joe, and then obviously his role as head coach but it’s been something gracious about building that bond with him both on the court and off the court. “i love playing for him, because he’s a great guy and a great coach.”
