Mitchell Trubisky’s streak with the Pittsburgh Steelers ended Monday.The Steelers announced Trubisky’s release a year after the two sides agreed to a two-year extension. The Steelers saved about $3 million in cap space after parting ways with the veteran pass rusher.The question for Trubisky is what is his next step at this point in his career? It would be a gamble if the team gives him a chance to compete for the starting quarterback job next season.
For Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, he sees Trubisky returning to the Buffalo Bills for a number of reasons. “Mitch Trubisky returning to Buffalo would make a lot of sense,” Breer wrote on SI.com. “He had a good year there in 2021, and Brian Daboll was serious about signing a quarterback with the New York Giants. “And last year, when the Bills were happy to see Josh Allen’s friend Kyle Allen, Trubisky helped renovate the room.Trubisky spent the 2021 season with the Bills as Josh Allen’s primary backup at quarterback.
