With a one-year market value of $4.9 million, he gives the Steelers a cheap and experienced option.
The possibility of a reunion with Smith could be an attractive prospect for both sides. While the Steelers remain committed to competing at quarterback and consider Rudolph their top option, alternative plans are being considered due to the uncertainty surrounding his free agent status. Familiar with Smith’s playbook and track record, Tannehill emerges as a viable option in Pittsburgh.
