The Atlanta Falcons surprisingly hired Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris as their new head coach, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The hiring came as a big surprise given multiple reports that the New England Patriots were in serious discussions to hire former head coach Bill Belichick. But Morris knows the organization well, having been the Falcons’ defensive coordinator in 2020 and interim head coach after Atlanta fired Dan Quinn in 2020. In the last three seasons, he brought the RAMS defense coordinator and helped all the leaders of the competition at Leiden, Leiden, in 2021.
