New England Patriots wide receiver Keyshon Boothe has been arrested on gambling charges.Butte turned himself in after a warrant was issued for his arrest, Louisiana State Police said Thursday.
According to WAFB 9’s Scotty Hunter in Baton Rouge, Boothe was charged with computer fraud, a misdemeanor and a felony, for allegedly banning users under 21 from playing the game.
Butte was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail and released on $6,000 bond. Buta, who turned 21 last May, is accused of illegal gambling by opening a fraudulent online gaming account as a minor.
He used that account to place thousands of different bets, including some while playing at LSU. Some bets are placed on LSU football games. The stakes ran into “hundreds of thousands of dollars.”Hunter Butte says he never played “against” him at LSU, so there’s no evidence he ever played the TLSU said in a statement that the school was notified of the allegations in July 2023. University officials cooperated with the investigation and found no evidence implicating other student-athletes.
Butte played three seasons at LSU and was drafted in the sixth round by the Patriots last year. He appeared in five games as a rookie and had just two catches for 19 yards.
