“It is very clear” as Patriots New coordinator takes side betweenJayden Daniels or Drake Maye.

The Patriots will have plenty of options entering the 2024 NFL Draft.

With the third overall pick, New England is in a good position to select the quarterback of their choice, whether it’s Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels or UNC signal-caller Drake May. But what QB are Patriots fans hoping Foxboro gets with the third pick?In recent months, Maye has taken the field as the No. 2 projected in the 2024 NFL Draft. But ESPN staffer Mel Kiper Jr.

shook up the rankings in a recent mock draft, projecting Daniels as the No. 2 by the Commanders, and May taking the 3rd spot by the Patriots. On MassLive’s “Eyes on Foxboro” podcast, NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah gave his thoughts on where Daniels, Maye and USC’s Caleb Williams rank in the draft ranki

Jeremiah noted that the consensus around the league is for Williams to be the No. 1 overall pick, but he doesn’t think there’s much of a difference between Daniels and Maye as top prospects.”We put the players in groups,” Jeremiah explained. “We use the expression: There are two players who have ‘traveled together’ for the Test.

That’s why I’m there. Either this person or that person. It used to be books on the wall, now it’s all on the computer, but they have magnets, so if you hang them up there, Jayden Daniels and Drake May won’t face off against each other. “Their books are close to each othYou say these guys travel through the All-Star Game, (NFL) Combine, Pro Day, visits, all of that — let’s take it step by step.Just like every winter, the January exams look very different from the ones at the end of April.

But don’t expect a QB like Jeremiah Williams to suddenly fall out of the top spot and disrupt your overall draft order.”I (Williams) am at a higher level now, but that doesn’t mean other players don’t understand, because you can learn more about them,” Jeremiah said. “I’ve never been told to back Caleb, but I’m always open to the fact that the project is months away and I need to gather information and make changes.”While Maye has garnered much praise as a prospect due to his arm strength and balanced physique, Daniels boasts a high ceiling as a two-way threat option at the next level.Last week, Kiper compared Daniels to Lamar Jackson and Randall Cunningham if he is to reach his potential in the NFWhat’s best for the Patriots? Jeremiah believes both can make an impact in 2024 and beyond, but it all depends on the personnel around them on the field. “I’m saying right now, those two guys are going to come in defensively and they’re going to have very solid players, at least one or two.

“I’m confident they’ll both be successful because they have a lot of players around them,” Jeremiah said. “It’s hard for rookies to have that luxury because team rosters are usually very inaccurate when the draft starts.”What do you think about a scenario where New England selects Ohio State star wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. with the safest pick of the three? “I’m going, young quarterback, veteran receiver.L.er.ngs.
