(ap photo/bruce kluckhohn) and last updated green bay, wis. (ap) — bo melton has been named to the green bay packers’ active roster one day after his incredible play in a 33-10 victory over the minnesota vikings. The packers also signed safety tyler coyle to their practice squad, which earned him a game ball from coach matt lafleur.
Melton scored his first career touchdown on a 9-yard catch in the third quarter and his 100-yard receiving record by any packer this season. After sunday’s game, lafleur said, “from day one, bo (has had) just an unbelievable attitude, unbelievable approach.” “he has been team first throughout the entire process. he has a lot of energy.
Takes a lot of pride in his work, does a really good job when he wasn’t up, just giving great looks and performing well on the show teams, giving great looks to the defense, preparing our corners, and preparing our defense for whoever the defense takes away. I’m just so proud of him because he’s earned it,” melton said. melton has spent the bulk of this season on the packers’ practice squad, but only for four games. Melton was signed off seattle’s practice squad late in the 2022 season by the seahawks in the seventh round of the year’s draft. “i always thought of myself and believed in myself to be a great player,” he said. You can’t let the practice squad days drag you down.
Every single day, you must go out there and practice hard. You never know when your time is coming. melton has 10 receptions for 149 yards in his last two games. Before the two-game stretch, he had only one career catch for 7 yards.
