The green bay packers had a great season in 2023. Jordan love started his first season as a starter, and the team made it to the divisional round of the playoffs.
The team will certainly continue to build on that success and become a true super bowl contender in the coming season. Many believe that certain players should be retained in order to achieve this. Aaron jones is certainly one of those players.
According to ryan wood of usa today, head coach matt lafleur discussed aaron jones’ future with the packers today. “the product seemed to be pretty good to me,” Matt lafleur said. He certainly had an effect on our offense, our squad, and the late-season push. I don’t know if we do all that without him.“at one point, packers quarterback jordan love would rely heavily on jones for the remainder of the season.
The packers’ young pass catchers stepped up to the plate when jones missed time due to injury. Jones rushed for 656 yards (highlighted by three 100-yard games to close the year) and 30 passes for 233 yards and another score. i’m sure many pundits would have believed the packers were still playing football in late january if you told them these statistics were from jones’ 2023-’24 season.
Jones, on the other hand, proved his value to the team when it mattered most. His 108 yards against the 49ers was his fifth 100-yard game in a row. The packers certainly had chances to win that game, and lafleur expressed how dissatisfied he is that the team isn’t preparing for the detroit lions right now.
