According to ESPN.com, belichick and wright thompson of the nfl later said he discussed the possibility of trading quarterback mack jones to people in the building after he was drafted in the first round of 2021, wishing to establish a similar relationship with brady.belichick’s decision was later communicated to his manager, and it could be that competent quarterback play (or lack thereof) has been at the heart of the patriots’ problems in 2023-24.
