Under new head coach Jerod Mayo, the new England patriots coaching staff is likely to be building a heck of a youth movement.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL network, the patriots are recruiting denver broncos defensive backs coach christian parker for the defensive coordinator position. the patriots also have the youngest head coach in the nfl, in the form of 37-year-old Mayo. Parker, 32, will be one of the league’s youngest coordinators.
Pelissero described the broncos coach as a “fast riser.” for reference, he is only two years older than patriots receiver devante parker.
When Sean Payton took over the broncos this season, parker was one of only a handful of coaches to remain on the staff. He received a lot of praise from the rest of the coaching staff, with defensive coordinator Vance Joseph saying he’d bounce ideas off parker every day as soon as last summer. “he’s sharp, man,” joseph said via broncos wire. “he’s sharp. he’s got a good eye.” he says. He’s a hero.
He is a great partner to work with. .. he’s smart, he spits his spit on his opponents, and his players love to play for him. Since bill Belichick took over as head coach of new England, Mayo is in the midst of a transformation. Since Mayo took over as the defensive coordinator, the position remains uncertain. In the meantime, there is no word on whether defensive play caller steve belichick will remain on the team.
