Liverpool beat Fulham 2-1 in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final at Anfield on Wednesday night thanks to a huge assist from Darwin Nunes.
The Uruguayan star provided two assists but missed one on the scoresheet in the win, with Leno producing a superb save to deny the striker.
After Nunes had plenty of chances against Newcastle on New Year’s Day, the Liverpool star was left frustrated after the game at Fulham.Nunez was heard saying, “Loco, no quiere entrar la pelota nomás.” This roughly translates to “Uncle, the ball doesn’t go in.”The 24-year-old has been criticized for poor finishing this season, but the striker’s performance on Wednesday night showed he is more than that and as long as he gets the chance, a goal will come.
