A gunman opened fire outside the Showcase cinema on Wednesday January 3 after opening fire on a newsagent in Liverpool.
Merseyside Police were called to the Upper and Lower News Agency at around 8.30pm after a man threatened a shop worker and shot him before leaving empty-handed.
Store surveillance cameras show a man wearing a hoodie, sweatpants and flip-flops pull out a large firearm, aim and fire at the store’s cash register.
The employees were not injured, but police said store employees were shaken by the ordeal.
The 49-year-old, from Fazakerley, was arrested by armed officers at around 4.46am on Thursday, January 4, but has not yet been identified by police.
