Danny Murphy has praised Dominic Szoboszlai and believes the Liverpool midfielder would be more recognized if it wasn’t for Jude Bellingham.
The Hungarian playmaker was an instant hit at Anfield following his summer move from RB Leipzig. He scored great goals and dominated the game with his unstoppable skills. It could have been the England international who did it on Merseyside as Manchester United were linked with the 20-year-old for months before he moved to Real Madrid in June.
Bellingham has been impressive at the Bernabeu, scoring 13 goals in as many games, including two in last weekend’s El Clásico win ( Transfermarkt ).
Speaking to Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE, Murphy said Szoboszlai excellence is coming into focus thanks to his impressive performances in LaLiga. Everything revolves around Bellingham because he went to another planet. “I know we’re in a different league, but we talk about Bellingham a lot. Szoboszlai comes in and has it all. “He’s a threat, he’s got good feet and he defends well.
“To be fair, Bellingham’s performance in Spain was exceptional and it would be unfair not to acknowledge that. But given how impressive he’s been for Liverpool so far, we’re delighted to have Szoboszlai on board. If anything, it might be beneficial for him to be a little under the radar. Because that way he can redirect the microscope and go back to what he was doing.
