This summer’s signing paves the way for Liverpool to qualify for European competition. Liverpool’s Ryan Gravenbirch has been ruled out for most of this season’s Europa League games but has been very impressive so far. He again played a key role as Jurgen Klopp’s side all but secured a place in the next round in an easy 5-1 win over Ligue 1 side Toulouse at Anfield last night. 21-year-old Gravenbirch once again captivated the fans with a comprehensive and action-packed performance from the start, scoring once in 70 minutes of play. He has started all three games in the group stage so far, scoring two goals and assisting in three comfortable victories. But the league provided the perfect environment for him to work with Klopp. Some of the pressure was taken off him as he was part of a strong line-up against a team Liverpool expected to beat. There is still much to show in the
Premier League. It’s a difficult task given the strength of the squad and Gravenbirch has only started one game so far – last week’s Merseyside derby. We’d expect things to change given his performances in Europe, but it’s undoubtedly been a good time for the Dutchman. Last night’s stats: Completed 27 passes (96% accuracy), 3 important passes, 1/1 accurate long balls, 3/3 successful dribbles, 3 tackles, 2 interceptions and 7/11 duels won.
His ability to get forward with the ball, win tackles and be a general presence in midfield was a huge boost for Klopp and it was a huge mistake for Bayern as Gravenberch looked free, open and above all content of his football. . He now played just three games for Germany last season.Gravenbirch will still be eligible for
rheEuropa League, but with games remaining before facing some of the competition’s best players, this is a good opportunity for him to challenge for a starting spot in the competition. Relying on his strong form.
