Pedro Neto’s form at Wolves has seen him linked with a move to Liverpool, but Gary O’Neill insists the winger is happy at Molineux after a successful start to the season.
Gary O’Neill insists Pedro Neto is “very happy at Wolves” following his move to Liverpool.Neto has been in fine form at Molineux this season and has provided six assists in nine Premier League games. One of them was against Liverpool last September. The Reds eventually won 3-1 in the Black Country, but the Portugal international proved a difficult player to pin down. Liverpool have reportedly been tracking the Portugal international during the recent international break.
Neto came on as a substitute for Milan star Rafael Leao just after the hour mark as Portugal beat Bosnia and Herzegovina. Meanwhile, interest in Mohamed Salah has sparked talk of a possible replacement for Liverpool’s talisman. Saudi Arabian Pro League side Al Ittihad made a verbal bid of up to £150m for Salah ahead of the summer transfer deadline, but the Reds are adamant the time to sell him is not far away. But O’Neill was unfazed by reports that Neto could be the Egyptian’s long-term replacement, as he stated on Monday Night Football.”He is very happy at Wolves,” said Molineux, who was once part of Liverpool’s coaching staff.
“He’s enjoying football and has rediscovered his good form. He’s had a tough couple of years with bad injuries and form, but now he’s in top form. He’s incredibly consistent, happy at the club and we’ll try to help him. Please help me accomplish great things while I’m here.”
