The adjudicating body, PGMOL, issued a statement admitting there was “significant human error”. He added that VAR should step in and take no action until the situation is “fully investigated”. Both Liverpool fans and manager Jurgen Klopp were outraged by the injustice and there is talk of a rematch next week. And while it may appear to have fallen on deaf ears, Sky Sports pundit Carragher hasn’t stopped Maddison from digging into some peace.
