Despite Fabio Carvalho being in a difficult situation at RB Leipzig, Liverpool may take action in January as a result of four loanees’ concerning lack of playing time.
Although the Reds presently have 17 players on loan, only a small number of them are regular starters for their teams, and two of them are sidelined for the long term due to injuries.
Calvin Ramsay and Adam Lewis, however, have justifications for their absences, whereas Carvalho, James Balagizi, Billy Koumetio, and James Norris do not.
All four were once again overlooked by their teams for the weekend’s games; Carvalho was the lone player to even make the matchday roster.
However, while Calvin Ramsey and Adam Lewis had their say in absentia, Carvalho, James Balaghizi, Billy Kumetio and James Norris (The same goes for James Norris.All four did not play in the weekend fixture, with only Carvalho included in the matchday squad. Elsewhere, Balagizi was left out of the squad as Wigan beat Exeter 2-0 in League One, with the midfielder missing six of his last seven league games.
The young left-back missed Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Doncaster, meaning he has not featured in the League Two side’s last six games and has not been included in the squad for five of those games. If this situation continues, Liverpool are expected to terminate the contracts of Balagizhi, Koumetio and Norris in January.Carvalho could also be a candidate for an early return. Negotiations are expected to be impossible, or at least very difficult, as Leipzig would have paid a hefty loan fee to secure a season-long deal.
