The 27-year-old has since had a strong start to the new season, scoring six goals in seven games in the Bundesliga and one in a victory over Manchester United in the group stage of the Champions League. Sane’s contract with the Allianz Arena runs through the summer of 2025, but Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have recently expressed interest in the winger. In order to entice a German to Anfield, Liverpool is reportedly willing to break their club transfer record of £80 million, which they set with the acquisition of striker Darwin Nunez two summers ago.
According to the report, there have been rumors that Liverpool would be willing to spend up to £100 million on Sane. As a result, Man City could receive about £10 million from the proposed deal, while the Reds would need to make a club-record purchase of at least £80 million for the Citizens to make at least £8 million.
