In the Premier League and almost everywhere else in the modern game, loyalty can be difficult to come by. It used to be that money was king, but these days it truly rules every aspect of the game. As a result, it’s getting harder and harder for a football player to play their entire career—or even for a significant amount of time—for one club. Naturally, a professional athlete’s career is brief, and many will chase the prize before they must retire and decide what they will do with the rest of their lives.

The Premier League players who have currently served the longest are:

5.  11 years, 1 month, Hugo Lloris, Spurs. Hugo Lloris, a French goaltender, joined Tottenham Hotspur when Andre Villas-Boas was still the head coach. He has played in a Champions League final and made 447 appearances for the Lilywhites by the age of 36. He also served as captain.

4.   Joel Ward, Crystal Palace, 11 years, 4 months. Joel Ward, a fullback, was born and raised in Portsmouth and began his career there, but he is a Crystal Palace fan at heart. In 2012, the 33-year-old joined the Eagles, and he soon assisted them in advancing via the playoffs to the Premier League. Since that time, he has made 336 appearances for the south London team, including the 2016 FA Cup final.

3.  Newcastle United’s Paul Dummett served 12 years and 30 months.

The 32-year-old has only ever spent two seasons on loan elsewhere, with Gateshead and St. Paul’s, so I bet you didn’t even know he was still at Newcastle. Mirren. He has actually been at St. James’ Park for 23 years, during which time he has experienced all of the club’s highs and a great deal of its lows

2.   14 years and 3 months old is Lewis Dunk from Brighton. This has the potential to be a contentious topic because, despite the fact that Lewis Dunk is regarded as Mr. Brighton, it is rarely mentioned that the England international submitted a transfer request in 2015 and even declined to participate in a League Cup match in order to facilitate a £15 million transfer to Fulham. History was made when the Seagulls, who had just placed 20th in the Championship, refused to sell.

1. 14 years and 8 months,

Seamus Coleman, Everton. In 2009, Sligo Rovers sold Seamus Coleman to Everton for a pittance. The Irishman may be the best value signing in Premier League history, even though add-ons in the deal meant that he ultimately cost more than the £60,000 fee Toffees supporters love to sing about.

Liverpool’s Gomez only comes in as top 16 for the premier League. The Liverpool’s central back has a total of 8 years and 3 months spent in the premier League already and still counting. He is the oldest players in the ranking for Liverpool currently.
