Barcelona is willing to offer Ansu Fati in a potential exchange deal in order to acquire Brighton and Hove Albion’s Kaoru Mitoma, who is coveted by Liverpool.
In order to fill their attacking department’s gaps, Barcelona borrowed Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid. The Portuguese star will most likely return to his parent club after his loan expires at the end of the current season, though. The club is considering other options due to the unpredictability of his situation at Barca. It is pretty obvious that Xavi wants to bring in a winger the team can count on for many years.
Ansu Fati was sent on loan to Brighton despite performing well in preseason in the hopes that he would find enough playing time and some much-needed confidence there. However, Fati has had difficulty thus far with the Seagulls, which has prompted Barcelona to take action to ensure their future. Over the previous two seasons, Kaoru Mitoma has been among the Premier League’s most thrilling wingers.
He has played 52 times for Brighton since joining the team, appearing in all leagues and contributing 12 assists and 13 goals. The Seagulls could ask for more than €50 million for their player given that he is 26 and an important part of Roberto De Zerbi’s lineup. It is unclear where Mitoma will end up for the upcoming campaign because Liverpool is also interested.
According to reports, Xabi Alonso, a current manager of Bayer Leverkusen and a former midfielder for Liverpool, has a special clause in his contract that is only good for three clubs. According to the German publication Bild, Alonso will be free to leave Leverkusen in 2024, but only if Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, or Liverpool make an approach.
