Former Liverpool star dubbed “Better than Raheem Sterling” makes shock switch to non-league team

Jordon Ibe, a former Liverpool winger who was compared to Raheem Sterling, has made an unexpected switch to National League team Ebsfleet United. Ibe, an ex-Liverpool and Bournemouth winger, had been without a club since leaving Turkish club Adanaspor in 2022. His career then began to decline. Ibe last played for the Reds back in 2016. Due to the similarities in their playing styles, Jordon Ibe was initially compared to Raheem Sterling.

Ibe debuted at the age of 15 and was acquired by Liverpool in 2012. He played for Wycombe Wanderers’ first team at that time. For the Reds, he made 58 appearances, contributing to seven goals across competitions with assists on another four. He was unable to crack the starting lineup, though, and left for Bournemouth in 2016 for a club record £15 million.

His downward spiral was caused by injuries and inconsistent play since he left Adanaspor last year, which has left him without a club. Jordon Ibe disclosed his mentality after joining Ebsfleet.
