According to an article in the Puglia edition of Gazzetta dello Sport, the youngster’s quick rise has attracted interest from afar. Liverpool and Manchester City are reportedly showing interest in Lecce full-back Patrick Dorgu, but Barcelona may challenge them for his signature. According to the newspaper, Liverpool and Barcelona have already “targeted” Dorgu, who is “starting to have the eyes of several clubs” on him.
Along with them, Manchester City has expressed interest in him and has recently “observed” him playing for Italy against England. The 18-year-old is presently committed to a contract that runs through 2027, and his agent isn’t pushing for a transfer because he thinks his client should continue to grow and mature with the Italian team. However, if he keeps going at his current pace, it’s thought that “concrete offers” will start to mount to remove him sooner rather than later.
Although it is unknown which of those players is from Liverpool or Manchester City, interest is being shown in a player who has proven to be proficient on both the offensive and defensive sides of the field. Both the Premier League duo and Barcelona are now keeping a close eye on him because he is very much the youngster on the rise for Lecce.
