Manager Jurgen Klopp gives Ryan Gravenberch high credit for his outstanding performance in the Europa League match against Union SG.
At Anfield, the Reds defeated the Belgian team 2:1. Although the home team did not have an easy time winning, they did so in the end with ease.
As he recently scored his first goal for Liverpool, Gravenberch has been in outstanding form for his new team, and Klopp is pleased with his development. Since his Ajax days, the 21-year-old has been off their radar.
The Dutch midfielder has already contributed two assists and one goal to this current campaign’s opening stages. The first goal of the night was scored by Gravenberch, who scored because he was alert after Union SG goalkeeper Anthony Moris was unable to return after a deflection
In the meanwhile, Klopp praised the young midfielder and said:
“I believe it is quite clear how talented and good he is.
“He’s enjoying himself and the scenario, which is crucial. He gradually regains all of his confidence, which is amazing to watch. He is in the middle of the group and matches the squad’s age group pretty well, which is excellent. That can only be good.
“We thought he might be able to play 90, and we want to give him 90, but then we saw how he dropped a little bit and didn’t want to go there [with] any risks, so that’s why we brought on Dom for a few minutes.”
