Billy Hogan, the chief executive of Liverpool, maintains that they will never overspend.
Hogan acknowledges that FSG’s owners have come under fire for their expenditure during recent transfer windows. But he is certain that the club must be financially independent.
Hogan said, “You get a weekly understanding of where you are in terms of results on the pitch,” in an interview with the SportsPro Media Podcast.
“The pressure of performance and winning can sometimes be overwhelming on the field, but that’s just a part of the passion and intensity from our perspective, and I definitely count myself extremely fortunate to be in the situation I’m in. That is the mentality at Liverpool; we are focused on trophies and other hardware.
The past three years have seen tremendous success for us.
