Khephren Thuram, a French midfielder, is still a target for Liverpool, according to 90min.
The 22-year-old central midfielder was heavily linked to the Reds during the summer transfer window, but no deal materialized.
Thuram moved from Monaco to Nice in 2019 and has since made over 135 appearances across all leagues.
Liverpool did strengthen their team throughout the summer, bringing in up to four new midfielders. However, it appears that they are still interested in the France international.
The Reds have requested that Nice keep them informed regarding the player’s availability, although they will undoubtedly face opposition from a number of European clubs.
According to 90min, Tottenham Hotspur, Juventus, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain are all interested in signing the highly regarded midfielder.
Does Liverpool actually require Thuram?
Without a doubt, Thuram is a superb midfielder with a promising future. There is always place for excellent players in the team, but in the forthcoming transfer windows, the Reds should focus on strengthening other areas of the field.
However, if Liverpool can get rid of Thiago Alcantara, who was linked with a move to Trabzonspor earlier this month, Klopp might be persuaded to sign him.
The first goal should be to sign a new center defender next summer (or in January). A suitable replacement is required because Joel Matip will be a free agent next summer.
If Mohamed Salah leaves, the Reds might also try to add enough quality to their forward line. In a perfect world, the club would keep him, but things might change next summer.
