According to reports, Chelsea is thinking about trading for Liverpool target Federico Valverde from Real Madrid in exchange for Reece James.
Spanish rumours claim that the Blues are considering trading James for Valverde and sending both to Madrid, according to TEAMTalk. With 11 goals and 20 assists in 148 games across tournaments, the England international is considered as one of the greatest in Europe at his position.
Dani Carvajal, 31, and Lucas Vazquez, 32, may soon need a replacement at right-back for Los Blancos as they near the end of their careers. James, 23, has experienced injury issues while playing for Chelsea, though. Due to a hamstring injury, he has only played once this season.
James has supporters within Real Madrid’s camp and may eventually replace Carvajal at the Santiago Bernabeu. He is one of the hardest opponents Vinicius Junior has ever faced in his career.
Valverde is now vying for a starting position in Carlo Ancelotti’s lineup against a wide range of skilled midfielders. Jude Bellingham, Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Brahim Diaz, and Dani Ceballos are just a few of the La Liga powerhouses’ players. This season, the 25-year-old has been given a starting position, and in six games across competitions, he has scored one goal. If, though, Diaz presses for a spot in Ancelotti’s starting X, he might soon be looking over his shoulder.
Previously, Steven Gerrard and compatriot Valverde were compared by Luis Suarez, a former Liverpool player. If the Reds decide to make a bid for him later, he might end up becoming a hero at Anfield.
