There are two very distinct variations of the new purple third kit that Liverpool will debut against LASK in the Europa League.
The team will travel to Austrian club LASK wearing their third kit, as confirmed by the club, to mark their return to the Europa League.
The Reds will hope that Thursday’s 5.45 p.m. kickoff a lucky omen as they seek a flawless start to their campaign in Europe’s second-tier competition.
In reality, jerseys frequently don’t appear nearly the same on spectators as they do on players on the field.
But this time, this is because the “stadium” and “match” variants of the kit are noticeably and significantly different from one another.
The player uniforms that will be worn after they leave the Raiffeisen Arena are the most similar to those of Nike’s “match” model.
The third kits for this season, however, are wholly different colors, despite the fact that there is normally an improvement in quality from the “stadium” kit to the “match” kit.
Even the pattern on the shirts is substantially different between the more expensive “match” outfit and the cheaper “stadium” jersey. The “match” uniform is much lighter and has an almost lavender tone.
This is a “first in the history of authentic and replica kits, which tend to have other differences, but not the color,” according to kit experts Footy Headlines.
The LFC badge also seems different, with the “match” version rubberized rather than stitched on, in addition to the shirt’s color and pattern.
Although there is no official justification for the variations between the shirts, Nike claims that each one uses a distinct fabric technology.
