Liverpool receives Jürgen Klopp clarification as Germany chooses its $4.3 million manager following exit rumors.
Although Jürgen Klopp has been mentioned in connection with the open Germany manager position, it appears that he will not be leaving Liverpool anytime soon.
The rumor that Jürgen Klopp would quit Liverpool for the position of managing Germany has been put to rest with the announcement that Julian Nagelsmann will assume the position.
The opening resulted from Hansi Flick’s dismissal following a friendly loss to Japan on the most recent international break. Despite reports that linked Klopp to the job, the 56-year-old’s representative earlier stated that because of his long-term contract at Anfield, he is not eligible for the national coaching position.
Nagelsmann’s previous management position was at Bayern Munich, when he was fired at the end of March following a disappointing campaign by the standards of the Bundesliga champion. Thomas Tuchel, a former manager of Chelsea, took over in his place and guided the team to an 11th straight German championship.
Nagelsmann managed RB Leipzig for two years and Hoffenheim for three years prior to his spell at Bayern. During his managerial career, Nagelsmann met Liverpool twice in the Champions League.
Both times, his sides suffered defeat. The Reds defeated Leipzig in the round of 16 of the 2020/21 season, and they defeated Hoffenheim in a two-legged play-off match during the 2017/18 campaign.
Any rumors about Klopp leaving Liverpool have been put to rest with the selection of Nagelsmann as Germany’s manager. Klopp is committed to guiding Liverpool to more success and has a long-term contract with the team.
According to an earlier statement from Klopp’s representative, “Jürgen has a long-term contract with LFC and is not available for the national coaching position.” The position of national coach is and would be a huge honor — there is no doubt about that, according to Klopp, who stated this in the summer. My loyalty is the issue that prevents the whole thing from happening.
In general, it’s a fascinating job. After I leave Liverpool, I’m not sure if I’ll do something entirely different, though. I want to have a variety of possibilities.
