Liverpool forward returns to injury as the manager alludes to a January move departure

Paul Glatzel, a young player for Liverpool, finally returned after a severe injury last weekend.

The striker played the entire game in Saturday’s 4-1 loss to Middlesbrough for the Reds under-21s at the AXA Training Center. It was Glatzel’s first game following a devastating hamstring injury sustained while on loan at Tranmere Rovers in the previous campaign.
On his’second’ debut for the Wirral team a year ago, Glatzel suffered a setback. During his time at Tranmere in 2021–2022, he made 22 appearances while tallying seven goals and five assists.

Glatzel scored the game-winning penalty in the shootout victory over Manchester City in the FA Youth Cup final for the Liverpool under-18 team during the 2018–19 season. The manager of the Reds under-21 team, Barry Lewtas, praised the 22-year-old’s dedication to regaining health. Additionally, a January departure has not been ruled out.
It’s amazing to see Paul back, I swear, Lewtas said, according to the official Liverpool club website. Now all he needs is a streak of games and a little bit of luck. We observed that he never loses sight of the goal, even while he was on loan at Tranmere. At U21 level, he is now a senior player, and I have to say, his attitude and training style are top notch.

“I get to witness his quality every day, and I hope this is a period of constant training for him. Then, we’ll see how things go in the games. It’s a chance for him to be healthy, strong, and undoubtedly to keep practicing and improving as a player.
Since I’ve been Paul’s coach at the academy for a while, I am aware of his talent. We saw that during his first loan stint with Tranmere that the player who performed so admirably for us when we won the FA Youth Cup is still there. His skill and capacity to score goals are undeniable; I observe that every day. I’m used to it, and given the several moving parts involved in getting him out on loan, this window probably didn’t exactly work. He will be a big asset if he receives constant training and exposure to games.
