The 2023–24 season has obviously started off brightly for Liverpool. With four victories and a tie after five games, Jürgen Klopp’s squad is faring better than it did for the entirety of the previous season.
Arsenal made significant progress last season and then committed significant summer spending, but Manchester City is currently at the top of the pile and is always expected to set the pace. With Liverpool competing in the Europa League and carrying a lighter weight as a result, it is unclear how the Gunners will handle having Champions League action to contend with.
Joe Cole, a former midfielder for both Liverpool and Chelsea, has already seen enough to think that the Reds might take advantage of that advantage and challenge Manchester City once more, as they have so frequently in the past.
Liverpool, in my opinion, can challenge City the closest. They’ll be closer because Arsenal is also improving, Cole stated on TNT Sports. Even while I want to give respect to Liverpool for their hiring, Jürgen Klopp for the job it seems like he’s already done, and [Mikel] Arteta at Arsenal, I believe a lot depends on how City respond.
They will improve, in my opinion, thanks to players like those Liverpool has acquired, as well as players like those Arsenal has acquired.
