Chaim Bloom, the chief baseball officer for the Boston Red Sox, has been fired by Liverpool owner John Henry.A new senior leadership role in the operations division of the Major League Baseball team has been made available to General Manager Brian O’Halloran. After spending 15 years with the Tampa Bay Rays, Bloom leaves his position four years after taking it on in 2019.While the Fenway Sports Group immediately starts looking for “new leadership” for the Red Sox, O’Halloran will continue to oversee day-to-day operations alongside Assistant General Managers Eddie Romero, Raquel Ferreira, and Michael Groopman.
 Last year, FSG welcomed the prospect of adding new shareholders in Liverpool with Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs on board to help. Henry acknowledged in March that a process had been “formalized” to find new investors at Anfield – but stressed FSG are “fully committed to the long-term success of the club” in an exclusive interview with the ECHO.
