Ibrahima Konate has resumed training with Liverpool after six absences.

After recovering from a hamstring injury, Ibrahima Konate returned to Liverpool training on Thursday, all other absences may be brushed aside.

Since the Reds’ 3-1 victory against Bournemouth, Konate has not played for the team and was unable to represent France during the mid-September break.

The center-back, though, accelerated his rehabilitation while on vacation in Paris and joined the Liverpool team that reported back to the AXA Training Center this week.

Konate was visible taking part in a workout with a small, 14-player outfield group on Thursday at noon.

The likelihood that the Frenchman will be in line to start for the Saturday match against Wolves is a pleasant development.

Despite reporting to Kirkby, Trent Alexander-Arnold was not in the gym since his hamstring injury is still keeping him out of the England group.

Since Virgil van Dijk is out due to suspension, Konate and Joel Matip could fill in at center defense, with Joe Gomez needed at right back.

The trio of Alexis Mac Allister, Luis Diaz, and Darwin Nunez were again conspicuously absent on Thursday, though there are no current injury worries.

Nunez was substituted at halftime of Uruguay’s 2-1 loss to Ecuador due to “muscular difficulties,” according to Marcelo Bielsa, although it is anticipated that he, Mac Allister, and Diaz will simply be coming back later.

Following Jurgen Klopp’s concern over a turnaround time of “pretty much 48 hours” for his South American internationals, this was said.

Alisson was also on duty with Brazil but ought to get the start at Molineux, especially since he was inactive throughout the matches against Bolivia and Peru.

Thiago and Stefan Bajcetic, who were both at the AXA Training Center but were not included in the squad photo, were the other two significant omissions.

Though there are rumors of Trabzonspor interest in Thiago before the Turkish transfer window closes on Friday, it is unlikely that his absence is related to any offers.

It is more likely that he and Bajcetic were recovering from their long-term ailments independently; the latter was working out in the gym after playing his first minutes since March over the break with Spain U21.

Most of the participants in Thursday’s session were either off duty or based in Europe with their national teams.

Ryan Gravenberch joined the group after receiving permission to exercise with his new teammates, and Mo Salah traveled from Egypt despite having played on Tuesday night.

Wataru Endo began training after being involved with Japan during their friendly against Turkey and Germany, which were played in Europe.
