This season, the Reds will face the Austrian team in the Europa League group stages after being placed in the same group as them in Group A along with Union SG and Toulouse.
Following the draw, Liverpool posted opposition reports about the teams they were matched up against on their website, as is customary. It appears that this is the source of the issue.
According to Kronen Zeitung, they disseminated “false information” about the Austrian team, which is unacceptable behavior for a major organization with a “huge PR and media department” at their disposal.
They assert that LASK will win six easy points later this year if Liverpool performs on the field as poorly as they perform their study in the office.
The publication describes the Reds article as “weak and embarrassing” as it claimed LASK participated in the Conference League’s round of 16 last season when, in reality, they did not participate in any European competitions.
Thomas Sageder, the team’s coach, was also identified by Liverpool’s media department as a former LASK player, although this is untrue and is “also nonsense,” according to KZ.
According to KZ, Liverpool’s lack of care and focus on their opponents “shows how busy” they actually are. They are not at all worried, to put it another way.
They won’t allow that because, despite being “inferior,” they feel they should “still expect more respect” from their English counterparts, which is a difficult argument to refute.
