The ‘difficult’ Liverpool injury Stefan Bajcetic sustained last year has been revealed.
In 2022–2023, the midfielder made a stunning entry into Jurgen Klopp’s starting lineup. Bajcetic was a ray of sunshine for the Reds after the turn of the year, when many senior players were struggling with their form, making a total of 19 appearances and scoring one goal.
The Spaniard’s campaign was however cut short in March when he developed an adductor issue that necessitated surgery. Liverpool had to be patient with Bajcetic during preseason because he did not play once.
After being on the bench in the previous three games, the 18-year-old is finally back in action for Klopp’s team. Bajcetic, who helped Liverpool become physically stronger while he was out of play, said in the matchday program for Sunday’s 3-0 victory over Aston Villa that he is now aiming for minutes for Liverpool.
Regarding the newcomers, Bajcetic stated: “We lost some players, but we also received some new players that can aid us. We were most familiar with Alexis because I had faced off against him when playing for Brighton in the Premier League.
“Playing with people like him and Dom, who is incredibly good, is really simple to get used to. This is the top level of football, so you can always learn from the others, especially in my position in the midfield, and they have undoubtedly given us a boost.
