By the time his contract at Liverpool expires in the summer of 2026, Klopp will have spent 11 years there.
During his tenure at Anfield, the German has sparked a revolution, leading Liverpool to Premier League and Champions League victories.
In a statement made earlier this year (quoted by Goal): “I don’t know yet whether I’ll do something completely different after I leave Liverpool,” Klopp made a suggestion that he might take on a new endeavor once his current contract expires. I want to have a variety of possibilities.
The 56-year-old has previously been connected to the Germany post, but he has previously declined the offer while reaffirming his devotion to Liverpool.
At least in the beginning of Klopp’s administration, Reds supporters considered the possibility that the legendary Steven Gerrard of Liverpool may succeed him as manager.
The former captain of England was successful with Rangers, assisting them in their first Scottish Premiership victory in ten years.
He was given the Aston Villa position as a result of his achievement, but Gerrard struggled with the loss of Michael Beale, a key assistant, and was fired as the team teetered dangerously close to the relegation zone. Unai Emery, his replacement, led a capable team into the Europa Conference League qualification spots.
Gerrard is currently in charge of Al Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia, and his chances of getting the Liverpool post have never seemed more slim.
But fellow former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso is also a contender. Additionally, Alonso allegedly has a “secret agreement” with Leverkusen that enables him to quit the team whenever he pleases, according to Sport Bild (via Get Football News Germany). Liverpool might benefit from that if at all feasible when the time comes to select a new manager, even though it might not be active for some time.
