Al-Ittihad is prepared to make Liverpool a record-breaking £215 million offer for Mohamed Salah before the Saudi transfer deadline on Thursday.
Salah, 31, has recently been strongly connected with a move to the Middle East, and Al-Ittihad last week saw a massive £150 million offer rejected by the Reds in the last hours of the English transfer window.
The Egyptian superstar is not for sale at any price, according to Jurgen Klopp, and there is no chance that he will leave Anfield this summer, but that hasn’t stopped Al-Ittihad from putting together a better offer.
The Sun reports that Salah’s potential suitors plan to submit a new offer before Thursday that will surpass the existing transfer record amount with add-ons. A proposal of this nature is thought to be worth about £215 million to the Reds.
Jamie Carragher, a fan favorite at Anfield, said last week that, despite his reluctance to consider transferring Salah, his former club could not afford to refuse down a deal above £200 million for his services.
“When you look at what Harry Kane went for, about £100 million, and he is a year or two younger, but he only had a year to go on his deal at Spurs,” Carragher said in a statement to Sky Sports. Salah still has two more years and takes excellent care of himself.
