After Liverpool’s strong start to the season, Jurgen Klopp acknowledges that it is “horrible” that his players are now flying around the world on international duty.
After a solid finish to the previous season, the Reds went on to 10 points out of a possible 12 points with a commanding 3-0 Premier League victory over Aston Villa at Anfield on Sunday. This extended their undefeated streak to 15 games.
The matchday roster for Sunday’s game consisted of 20 players, and 15 of them have already left for international duty. Klopp is hoping that all of them return unharmed.
The Reds manager said, “The boys fly now all over the world, which is dreadful. “Let’s hope they all return healthy. We need to continue building on this excellent start. Before, it was a decent start; now, it’s an excellent start.
It was excellent (against Villa).” I had a great time seeing it, and I’m glad we were able to do so because we are leaving in two weeks.
 “At the beginning, 10 points from four games would have made us really delighted. They were extremely difficult away matches. Bournemouth early in the season, they look pretty good. Villa at home is a tough one. I’m ecstatic beyond words.
Alisson Becker, Alexis Mac Allister, Luis Diaz, and Darwin Nunez, Liverpool’s South American contingent, are expected to return to Merseyside just two days earlier after playing in World Cup qualifiers when the Reds play Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday at 12.30 p.m. in the Premier League.
