Liverpool Under-21s suffered their first loss of the Premier League 2 season despite the long-awaited return of injured player Kaide Gordon.
The 18-year-old, who joined Liverpool in February 2021 after graduating from Derby County’s academy, was given some time before being given the chance to join Jurgen Klopp’s team.
The winger scored his first goal for the club during a 4-1 FA Cup home victory over Shrewsbury Town in the 21/22 season, becoming the Reds’ second-youngest goalscorer to date and the youngest in that particular competition.
The winger made his first-team debut against Norwich City in a 3-0 Carabao Cup victory.
A Premier League debut soon followed, but it was also accompanied by a painful pelvic condition caused by Gordon’s growth. Due to this, he was unable to play until today at the Kirkby academy, where he resumed match play after being out since February 2022.
