Attacker Cody Gakpo of Liverpool thinks they should be pleased with how the season has started.
Gakpo and Liverpool are getting ready for their match against Aston Villa on Sunday.
“I think we did quite well,” he said to Liverpoolfc.com. Despite the fact that we had a chance to win the game, getting a point at Stamford Bridge is still something to build on.
“Two wins in a row is fantastic, especially the most recent one [at Newcastle], it was really nice, [but] we have to keep working and keep winning.”
The atmosphere was positive, he continued, but I believe everyone understood that the season was just getting started and that we needed to keep moving forward.
“It’s not as if we won two games and everything was over. We need to keep moving forward because we want more.
Gakpo went on to say of playing Villa at Anfield: “Every time it’s wonderful. The fans are fantastic, in my opinion. They are very essential to us, as you can see from the most recent home game. When we were trailing by one goal, they simply tried to motivate us to get an equalizer before we won.
“Since they contributed to our victory, we must return the favor by giving them further victories. Aston Villa is a good team, but so are we. All we need to do is show up prepared and try our best.
