The competition’s Group E was assigned to Liverpool on Friday during the draw in Monaco, along with LASK, Union Saint-Gilloise, and Toulouse.
The group phase, which will start on September 21 after the impending international break, is still being finalized.
Upon learning of the result, Klopp informed his Club that his instant thoughts were, “Top. I love playing against these teams, so I’m really looking forward to that.
“[I] can’t wait to start, pleased that we don’t have to fly too far, to be honest, because [that’s] a bit of a problem when you play Thursday and then you come back from wherever in Europe, and there are some distances, I think, especially in the Europa League, which is really hard. We were somewhat fortunate since it could have been very difficult.
However, we must definitely learn as we go along with the teams. I immediately went through the squads after noticing it and tried to identify who I knew and what I already knew, but that was plainly insufficient at the time.
“But what is it that we have? 3-week period? We’re going to be ready. We will get that team ready before getting ready for the other teams once we know [who we will play first].
The manager will be especially happy about Liverpool’s journey to Belgium, where Alexis Mac Allister, a midfielder, will be reunited with his brother Kevin, a defender at Union SG.
We have the utmost regard for them all, Klopp continued. Since I haven’t played in the Europa League very frequently in my life, it is all the more meaningful to me. I am really looking forward to it. It’s extremely nice, then.
“They will be enjoyable and difficult. For them, it is evident; I observed the Belgian team’s response, and we will undoubtedly run into Macca’s brother. It’s fantastic to see how that was received because everyone wants to defeat us as much as they want to play against us.
“So, if we want to advance in the competition, we must be incredibly greedy in all of these games, and it’s my responsibility to ensure that,”
