According to the website, the Reds have been informed of the Belgian international’s availability by the player’s agents.
However, it doesn’t appear that Jurgen Klopp’s team will pursue Lokonga at this time because the team is concentrating on other priorities. That is not entirely unexpected given the midfielder’s performances in England so far.
The 23-year-old cost £17 million when he transferred to the Gunners from Anderlecht in the summer of 2021, but he has had trouble making an impression at the Emirates.
Lokonga was given a loan to Crystal Palace for the second half of the previous campaign in order to obtain more playing time, but once Roy Hodgson was named manager in March, he scarcely saw the field.
This summer, Lokonga has been chased by other Premier League teams.
The English clubs Brighton and Burnley have both been mooted as potential destinations for the Belgian. Burnley is led by former Anderlecht manager Vincent Kompany.
However, Lokonga still hasn’t found a new team with only a few days left before the transfer window closes, and it appears his agents have begun pitching him to suitors.
