Piero Hincapie, a defender for Bayern Leverkusen, may join Liverpool this week before the deadline, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
Jacob provided an update on the Hincapie’s potential future plans, according to his X account. This summer, Liverpool is already hunting for a left-footed center-back.
Meanwhile, Darwin Nunez scored twice off the bench to help the Reds defeat Newcastle United on Sunday. For a clumsy foul on Alexender Isak in the first half, Virgil van Dijk was sent.
Joel Matip and Joe Gomez are both off of form, while Ibrahima Konate is injured, therefore Liverpool needs to sign a center-back.
Jacob claims that although Liverpool has not yet made a bid for the center-back, Hincapie is eager to join the Merseyside club. He stated:
“Center-back smart About Hincapie, I frequently receive inquiries.
“I continue to hear that there hasn’t been an offer from persons close to the player.
The player, by the way, would be quite open to a move to Liverpool, but as of right now, I’m not aware of a Liverpool offer. However, two Premier League clubs have been linked to him and have undoubtedly made inquiries.
“The other team is West Ham, and they are certainly looking for a center-back as well after a failed pursuit—I suppose we can call it that now—of Harry Maguire.
But I do believe Liverpool will be quite busy from now until the window closes.
The German company places a £35 million value on Piero Hincapie. Liverpool has to hire him this week, and quickly.
