Al-Ittihad of the Saudi Pro League is apparently interested in recruiting Joe Gomez in addition to Mohamed Salah, another Liverpool star.
According to a rumor from last week, Al-Ittihad is keen to transfer Salah to the Middle East so he may reunite with his old teammate Fabinho.
Even though Jurgen Klopp has maintained his star player won’t be traded this summer, the Saudi Arabian club is preparing a very pricey package to close the transaction.
The attacker would reportedly receive pay comparable to Cristiano Ronaldo’s and would become the most expensive player in Pro League history, surpassing the £80 million Al-Hilal paid for Neymar just two weeks ago.
Salah is unquestionably Liverpool’s best player and a living icon, therefore it is quite unlikely that the 31-year-old will leave the club, especially with the transfer window’s final few days rapidly approaching.
Al-Ittihad is not only interested in the Egypt captain; according to Fabrizio Romano, they are also searching for a new defense and have Gomez high on their shortlist.
The 26-year-old is praised for his flexibility since, while playing as a center back most of the time, he is also more than capable of filling in at right or even left back.
With deadline day rapidly coming, Liverpool will undoubtedly state clearly that they have no intention of moving the former England international because they still see him as a key player.
