Liverpool

Premier League record set by Jurgen Klopp with victory against Newcastle.

Klopp’s team came back in the second half, and substitute Darwin Nuez hushed the naysayers with a pair of nearly identical goals that gave the 10-man visitors an unexpected triumph in the dying seconds.

The three points on the road maintain Liverpool’s unblemished start to the 2023–24 season, and it may ultimately turn out to be an important win over a top–four competitor.

It’s interesting to note that Klopp broke a Premier League record with the victory.

The manager of Liverpool has now defeated Eddie Howe in 11 straight Premier League games.

The only time Klopp has lost to Howe in 15 encounters is when Liverpool let a 2-0 lead against Bournemouth slip and lost 4-3. However, the last three matches with Newcastle may have been the most exciting. In August of last year, Fabio Carvalho secured a 2-1 victory at Anfield; nevertheless, Liverpool won the rematch 2-0 despite Nick Pope’s red card.

Howe must be completely sick of seeing Klopp and Liverpool after Nuez’s spectacular double on Sunday. On December 30, the rematch is expected to be even more dramatic.
